In 2021, we all worked together to effectively contain the COVID-19 outbreak under the strong national joint prevention and control mechanism.
Domestic market of various industries has taken advantage of the momentum and quickly emerged from the trough affected by COVID-19, while the sewing equipment industry has ushered in a new round of strong growth. According to the preliminary statistics of China Sewing Machinery Association, the total annual output of computerized embroidery machines in 2021 is about 50,000 units, an increase of 92.3% year-on-year. According to the incomplete statistics forecast of the association, annual operating income of the industry embroidery machine in 2021 is about 4 billion yuan, an increase of about 48% year-on-year. Due to the turbulent international situation and trade friction, on the one hand, domestic embroidery machine manufacturers are facing huge pressure from the sharp rise in raw material cost of upstream suppliers; on the other hand, they keep up with the development trend of industry while actively investing in R&D to create new, specialized, refined and special product advantages, so that the industry chain can be developed and stabilized rapidly, thus creating a new chapter of the embroidery machine industry!

At the beginning of 2022, embroidery machine industry in China was still on a growth trend due to the release of overseas market demand and the significant upward trend in garment processing exports from Southeast Asian countries. However, the industry growth fell back by 26.5% month on month due to international factors such as the continued rebound of COVID-19 in Europe and the United States, the dramatic rise of conflicts in Russia and Ukraine, and the sharp acceleration of inflation. Southeast Asian countries represented by Vietnam, rapidly heated up to become the largest exporter of sewing equipment in China after a short period of economic downturn in the first quarter. According to incomplete statistics, the total value of Vietnam's import and export exceeded 600 billion USD in 2021, a record. Data from the General Administration of Vietnam Customs in March showed that Vietnam's total imports and exports were close to 70 billion USD, up 40% month on month, and exports 35 billion, up 50% month on month. The industry predicts that the total value of Vietnam's imports and exports will reach 800 billion USD in 2022.
